Candace Cameron Bure has grown up with a spotlight on her. She started acting when she was just a mere pre-teen when she began her acting career. Now the 47-year-old is still a celebrated actress.
However, in this latest story, she has found herself in the midst of angry fans. Keep reading to learn more about why the actress is in hot water…
Candace Cameron Bure is defending herself against social media. The 47-year-old actress claimed that she has not eaten fast food apart from In-N-Out for 20 years. She posted an Instagram story that read, “I haven’t eaten fast food except for In-N-Out in 20 years. Some days I wonder what a burger and fries is like from McDonald’s or Burger King or Wendy’s or any of those other places I’ve never eaten at. Today is that day. Am I going to find out? No.”
“And no, I’ve never had Taco Bell or anything similar,” the actress added. “I don’t regret it. You can’t convince me otherwise.”
However, social media sleuths did not believe Bure. Some even unearthed a picture from her Instagram account which has since then been deleted. It is a picture of the actress holding a Chick-Fil-A cup with one of her sons. The caption for the picture read, “We love chikin!”
While the picture was from 2012, people were keen to find evidence to discredit the actress and mother of three.
However instead of turning her cheek this time, she decided to have her spokesperson respond to the allegations of her lying. Bure’s spokesperson said in a comment to the media, “Candace told me that she drove her son to get food at Chick-fil-A and she only ordered an iced tea for herself.” The accusations of her having lied about the fact that she has not eaten fast food in 20 years were referred to as ‘ridiculous by the actress’ representation.’
Her representative clarified that in the photo the actress is merely holding a cup. “Candace is only holding a cup,” they added.
Bure has been open about her eating disorder and her journey with it. In her 2010 book Reshaping It All she opened up about her struggles.
“I knew I had a problem but again, it’s like being on a runaway train and you wanna get off but you don’t know how to get off,” Bure said in a 2016 interview.
“I kind of lost my identity in a sense and what happened was I turned to food for comfort when my husband was traveling and when I was alone. I had a very unhealthy relationship with food that turned into bulimia. I dealt with it for several years but it wasn’t about body image and trying to feel good — It was about trying to find comfort or fill voids within myself,” the actress said.
After her struggles, she wants to make sure her children do not learn this from her but instead learn health and fitness.” She has three children, her oldest daughter is Natasha followed by son Lev and Maksim. She shared her children with her husband, Valeri Bure.
This is not the first time the actress has been in hot water in the public’s eyes. She was lambasted just a while ago for her comments about marriage.
