Lisa Kudrow May Adopt Matthew Perry’s Dog After His Tragic Passing
Friends Star Matthew Perry, who tragically died on October 28 at age 54, was never married and never had children. What he did leave behind, besides his parents, siblings and many heartbroken friends and fans was an adorable Golden Doodle dog named Alfred.
Sources have told The Daily Mail that his beloved friend and former cast mate Lisa Kudrow may be adopting the pup to care for him.
Back in 2021, Perry adopted the precious Golden Doodle mix, who he often featured on his social media channels.
According to The Daily Mail, ‘Lisa and cast will all be attending his services. Lisa is also considering taking in his beloved dog Alfred.’
Kudrow wrote the forward to Perry’s memoir Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing, and in part she wrote, “So, I just focused on Matthew, who could make me laugh so hard every day, and once a week, laugh so hard I cried and couldn’t breathe. He was there, Matthew Perry, who is whip smart … charming, sweet, sensitive, very reasonable and rational. That guy, with everything he was battling, was still there. The same Matthew who, from the beginning, could lift us all up during a grueling night shoot for the opening titles inside that fountain.”
Kudrow has her own sweet dog named Emma.
We can all agree that dog owners have an amazingly strong bond with their beloved pets, and dogs feel the same way for their humans. When an owner passes, dogs may show signs of grief like pacing, whining, clinginess and loss of appetite. If you are caring for a grieving dog who las lost their owner, you can support them by trying to stick to their routine as close as possible and providing extra comfort and affection.
On October 28, 2023, it was reported that Perry suddenly died after a drowning accident in his Jacuzzi in his home in California. We will update as soon as we have additional information about who will be caring for Alfred.
