As parents, practicing honesty around children is key in having them grow into trustworthy and responsible adults.
But as many moms and dads know, there’s nothing wrong with a little trickery to carve out some alone time without the children.
Executing a hilarious escape from her soon-to-be sleeping baby, one mother in South Africa leopard-crawled – on her back – from the nursery and through the door, hoping for some fun time with adults.
What she hadn’t realized is that her break for freedom was captured on video, from a security camera set in the baby’s room...
Caryn Morris of Durban, South Africa, was trying to put her 15-month-old son Brody to bed. Like many toddlers, he was fussing and demanding her attention.
Meanwhile, downstairs in the living room, her husband was enjoying the company of friends who had come over for dinner.
Being the doting mother, Caryn was in and out of the little tot’s room, trying to calm him so she could join her guests.
But the baby wasn’t allowing it.
Devising a brilliant plan, Caryn laid herself flat on the ground, in Brody’s line of sight from the crib.
As the time ticked, the tot slowly closed his eyes, assured that mom was still in the room with him.
As his eyes got heavier, it was time for Caryn to make her escape.
With ninja-like moves, she crawls a few inches, checks on the baby, and then crawls some more.
In less than a minute, she was freed and the baby was still asleep.
Her husband Tyrone caught his wife’s daring escape on security cameras propped inside the nursery and amused by her stealth moves, he posted the video on his Facebook.
He captioned the post, “The best thing about having cameras in your house is watching your wife trying to exit the room after putting your son down!! Sometimes you have to use your initiative for your exit!! PS The SA Army are calling me for you to do training on the reverse leopard crawl!!”
The viral video, which has been viewed 22 million times, had netizens around the world commenting on her stealth moves.
“That’s some serious skill,” writes one, while another says “Been there before. You never know how creative you can be until you try to sneak around a sleeping baby.”
While the majority of cyber citizens found the video hilarious, others commented on the creepiness of her glowing eyes in the darkness.
One netizen shares, “And you wonder why kids are scared of monsters under their bed.” “The creepiest and funniest thing I’ve ever seen,” writes a second.
A third chimes in with, “I agree with previous comments: it’s hilarious but her eyes make it pretty creepy. But A+ for creativity definitely lol.”
We are amazed with the creativity of Caryn’s escape!
