The avid fans of Good Morning America noticed that a familiar face has been missing from the screens of the morning show for the past several weeks.
Ever since October 26, Michael Strahan has not been part of the show, and according to GMA, he won’t be returning for at least another week.
During his time off-air, his colleagues, Nightline co-anchor Juju Chang and World News Tonight host Linsey Davis, have been filling in for him.
As per Curt Menefee, a colleague Strahan, the former NFL star has been “dealing with a personal family matter.”
“Michael Strahan will not be with us this week as he is dealing with some personal family matters,” an ABC spokesperson said in a statement for People. “We appreciate everyone’s thoughts and concerns.”
As of now, Strahan hasn’t publicly addressed his absence. The football Hall-of-Famer has also not being active on social media.
Strahan has also missed two weeks for his role as a sports analyst on Fox’s NFL Sunday.
In the past, Straham spoke of his career as a host and told USA Today, “First of all, I get to work with fantastic people. Smart, engaged, funny people.”
He then added: “Another favorite part is that it changes. It’s never the same. There’s no two days where you, ‘Oh yeah, same news.’ … The enjoyment of that makes me more engaged because I understand work can change at the drop of a hat.”
